We witnessed and heard a meteorite extremely close. So close we all screamed and huddled together...even the men! Found this metal detecting, not sure what it is. Been doing research but still can't figure it out. It sets off every category on the metal detector (very faint iron) and it is not magnetic. It did scratch glass...Tried to use a metal file but can't tell if it is scratching because it is so small of a piece we are testing...Don't want to damage it if it is something good. Also, embedded in the center is a tiny piece of black (looks like carbon or graphite?) and it does leave a black streak. Is this an extremely rare meteor or is this quartz/crystal with possible silver/gold veins or something else? Any help would be appreciated.

To me it looks like terrestrial sedimentary rock with inclusions, maybe mica - just don't know. It is a "Leaverite," not a meteorite - in my opinion.
