Marked objects (for measuring?)

Not a really successful hunting day, but it was really nice to actually have some sunshine. I found these objects, but have no idea what they are. The greenish looking one is really heavy, but since it's green I figured it's copper. It's marked like a yard stick, and you can see the numbers 5 and 8 on one side. It feels way too heavy to have been a yard stick though. I can see that it says "city" on one side, and on the other side it looks like it says "classic city". I live near Athens, Georgia, and it's known by locals as the "classic city". The next object is much lighter, feels like aluminum, and it also has marks on it with numbers. I can see around the outside edge where it has the numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8. It looks like it might have been squeezed or pinched by something to cut it or something.

Too little there to really tell, but my guess from this part is that it would be part of a sundial.

I hadn't thought about it coming from something round. That's pretty interesting. The numbers on it would make sense if you look at it as if the number on the right is 80 and the number on the left is 85. The marks don't match up to imperial or metric rulers. I measured the marks with a compass, and it looks like it would have been between 12 and 14 inches in diameter. Also, the lettering on one side looks like it says "ASSIC CI", AND THE OTHER SIDE SAYS "CITY SCH" My guess is that it was some kind of compass that was used at the Classic City School here in Athens, but I can't find anything like it online. It was apparently made for that school, so I won't be able to find another one like it.

Maybe a beam off of an early beam scale?

It is slightly concave on the top part, and is slightly convex on the bottom of you item. This is a photo of one that has similar markings on the edge.
