Manufacturers plaque... "Century" Any guesses what it's from?

i found this plate the other day, and I have no idea what it came off of. Tried some searches but I haven't had any luck finding a match. It was found in the old bar I've been working on....

It's definitely not a car badge, I'm thinking along the lines of it being from an antique icebox or fridge, but I haven't been able to find one that matches...

Okay, I am working on the farthest parameters of my brain, but wasn't there a Century bicycle company?

That name plate seems awfully large to be on a bike.

It looks heavy and perhaps at one time quite colorful. The commercial plates on old equipment were that way, so it seems fairly old. Regardless of what it was formerly attached to, it is a really neat looking plate! Great find!

Since you found it in a bar it may be off an old appliance, the first thought to come to my mind was off a Century boat.

I do like the old makers plates, they are just so much nicer than the cheap stickers on things today. I have quite a few of them somewhere, but just for fun, here's a pic of one of my favorites. It came out of the old Dixie Brewery it's 24 inches across from tip to tip.

. I definitely agree. I suppose it might have something to do with pride in the product (then) vs. bottom-line (now). I can see why you like that one - very impressive! I'd love to have a collection. Thanks for sending the photo!

Long shot, but there is a Century Boat Company. Been around for over 90 years. Some of their older logos look very similar with the lettering. Perhaps a dash or stern name plate.
