Went out yesterday with a fellow metal detectorist at a park we’ve been wanting to hunt. He owns a Manticore and I a Nox 800. Rained early, but cleared up later. I hit a nice 1958 Wheat Penny and a 20 cent euro. And plenty of clad. A soccer metal and that toy car.
My friend hit a 1943 Walking Liberty Half and a very nice 1909 S Indian Head Penny, plus a wheat penny.
He hit a high 90’s something on his Manticore with the half and he asked me to sweep it with the Nox. I registered nothing. He dug it up and it was the Walking Liberty. On the surface the Nox, registered 33. We surmised it must have been on edge.

Congrats on a fine day of detecting. Walking halves are always great to see, but a 1909-S Indian is a rare find. You don't see many of those found in the ground. Your friend made a great score !!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

I'm curious if you swept over it from the same position as your friend. If on edge it can be tough to get a tone when sweeping perpendicular to the coin.
