From ML's website:

WHAT IS NEW?

  1. Stabiliser Setting: A new Stabiliser feature has been added to All Terrain Search Modes, significantly enhancing useability in iron trash. It improves the overall stability of the audio and Target IDs at sites where iron falsing may be experienced, and adds nuance to better distinguish good targets from iron. Adjust from 0 to 12 and make false detections a thing of the past.
  2. Enhanced Goldfield Search Mode: Take advantage of greater sensitivity to small gold with the power of MANTICORE.
  3. Soft Key Shortcuts: Take charge of MANTICORE with soft key shortcut functions added to control Search Mode, Flashlight, Display Brightness, Sensitivity Boost, Clear ID Map, Speaker Mute, Recovery Speed, and Frequency.
  4. Customisable Ferrous Target ID: Make it personal by highlighting Ferrous Target IDs in red.
  5. Underwater Headphone Boost: Enhanced audio awaits with Underwater Boost to increase headphone volume when using Minelab Waterproof Accessory Headphones (sold separately).
  6. Language Customisation: Access the user interface in your choice of language from English, French, German, Czech, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Hindi.
  7. General Stability Enhancements: Including improvements to Beach Mode Ground balance on dry sand, Search Mode default settings, wireless audio connection stability improvements and more.

Short video I did.

Thanks tnsharpshooter, Just updated the Manticore & headphones. There is a separate update for the ML 105 headphones and you need to do both updates.

That is correct.

To you guys & gals that own the Manticore with this newest update. Do you guys think the new red ferrous # update will help unmask good targets next to iron. My thinking has me wondering, will the red ferrous TID #'s on the manticore's processor, respond/process quicker/faster than the audio side of the Manticore processor. I'm thinking this could be a game changer on finding targets mixed in with iron. What's your thoughts. Thanks.

Couple videos related to gent’s question above .I did this morning.
Manticore users should watch both of these videos.

Thanks tnsharpshooter, I appreciate your time & effort for showing that test. Thank you. I want a Manticore, but I was holding off till accessory coils are added. I was hoping to see the red & black TID #'s to flip flop just as quick as the coil was swung over the good & bad target. Thanks again for your time of showing this.

You are welcome.

I'm not trying to hijack anybody's post or anything. But do you guys see a near future update coming for the equinox 900? Thanks.

Good video! It was odd/neat how that nickel almost ID correct with the horseshoe mashed in at TID of 27-28. Yet when you turned the horse shoe off it would hardly ID correct or even display a TID# Thanks for sharing that tnsharpshooter.

tnsharpshooter would you answer a question for me? Your 8" ferrous nail nickle test you showed. Do you think that same test with say a silver dime would perform the same/ respond the same in a test? Also do you think that same test with say a silver quarter, half, or dollar would have better results/respond better to the bigger silver coins because 1 they are bigger & 2 they are a high conductive coin? Thanks. I appreciate it. I'll get a Manticore hopefully soon. I'm hoping they will have a package deal soon with the 11" coil & possibly a 8" or 6" coil.

I ‘ll try to show. Let’s see how coin size (higher conductor using ATHC and ATLC drives the outcome using same nail and skrsfs close to same coin and nail placement.
Stay tuned.

I'm looking forward to reading or seeing your test. Correct me if I'm wrong, ATHC=all terrain high conductor. ATLC=all terrain low conductor. Now does Minelab dedicate certain frequencies to them programs? & If so what frequencies do they use? Or is that a Minelab secret. Thanks. Even thou I dont own a Manticore yet I always seem to pick up a couple pieces of good information that helps me in the field.

Some folks have looked at tx freq with so:e equipment. Me personally IDK about freqs.

I am wondering about the red numbers... Isn't it the same as it was, since the red line under the number indicated the same thing? Am I missing something? I know it is more obvious, but is it actually doing anything different?

When you detector is submerged it's a hell of a lot easier to see the red numbers

Stabilizer nearly eliminates a nice two-way repeatable signal...

Well I almost missed the one Indian Head cent signal I came across in the 3 hour hunt. This area of the park has quite a bit of iron, so I decided to put on the Stabilizer and see if it helped. I think I put it at 7. The Stabilizer did turn the volume down and make it tinny sounding on "false" iron hits. It also turned down and made tinny a nice two-way repeatable coin hit in the iron. I could just barely hear it. I turned off the Stabilizer (probably for the last time) and dug an IH down about seven inches. There was a 1/4" chunk of a square nail about an inch below and an inch to the front of the hole. Sadly I stabbed the coin with my digger. CRAP. It's a nice 1896.

Long story short - I think ML's solution to the iron false-signals is not that great (to be polite). It just turns the volume down and makes a tinny signal out of EVERY HIGH TONE mixed with iron. Sort of defeats the purpose of the Manticore. I may still try it in the super iron infested fields when they open up.

Note that I hunt in All Metal and have become use to the Manticore's Iron false signals (for the most part). I still don't like them, but I am now able to tell a coin mixed in with iron vs an iron false. For me if I can get a good repeatable high tone, then turn 90 deg. and get at least a fair high tone - it is probably a masked coin - usually.
