It almost looks home made to me. At least the H and a few of the other marks do. Is it silver? I hope someone can ID this for us.

It has a great face! Love it!

The clasp style is called a "C" clasp/catch and is one of the earlier clasp styles. It was typically used in the Victorian era, mid 1800's-1900. The hinge looks like a tube hinge which was also typical to that time period, so I would probably date it to 1850's-1900 roughly.
