Detector(s) used
Garrett ACE 250. Are there others?
Went to my bank today to run some coins I found with my metal detector through the coin counter. As I started to feed them I thought about looking in the coin return for any left from the last person....Check out this list........

All Wheaties...
1919, 1928, 1924, 1930, 1930, 1934, 1934, 1934, 1935, 1935, 1936, 1939, 1939, 1940, 1940, 1940, 1941, 1941, 1941, 1941, 1941, 1941, 1942, 1942, 1953.

Also was a 1970 Cinco Centavos, a 25 cent Canadian and a 1901 2 something or other from someplace. No marks for country.

Who needs rolls?? Just stick your finger in the coin return......ehehehe...

Makes you wonder what coins went into the machine if those were the rejects! I'd be trying to get a gander at those bags!

I had already talked to them about that. The coin counter in the lobby is serviced by Brinks and they (the bank) don't do anything with it. I don't think I could get those bags....shooties....ehehe...

Are you talking about a common date or the 1901 one? I saw one for five dollars on ebay and another for six dollars on another site.

Try to talk to someone else in that bank about buying the cent bags. That story they gave you about the machine being serviced by brinks doesn't make any sense.

What happens when a bag fill's up and stops the counter AFTER brinks has already left? They don't let anybody else use the machine until the next day OR next time brinks stops by?From what I have heard most machines use bags and as they get filled the teller changes the bag for a new one so the machine is always available.Other type machines use a bin or 2 bins that fill up with every denomination and are sorted at the rolling facility,I have heard that the tellers change the bins on these machines as well although I am not sure since most tellers are small woman and I think a full bin of coin would be quite heavy.Maybe they have heavy duty casters on them and they just move them to the vault until the truck comes to pick them up ???

Also,I wouldn't think brinks could not have enough time to change bags or bins in a machine because it is not safe to have that truck sitting in any one place for too long.It is a job based on speed and accuracy.

This is another reason that I can't believe it when a bank says that the drivers have taken the time to talk to them and said they don't "like" to haul so many half dollar rolls or boxes and to tell the customer who is bringing them in so often to stop it or they won't bring any more or take anymore away from the bank.

These drivers don't pay any attention to what they are hauling or the frequency of it and it would only make sense that they would like more people to order boxes and dump coins(job security!)It IS the tellers who don't want to handle the coin for people!

They get paid the same amount for their day at work whether they are just sitting in their chair all day cashing checks for people or having to get up and haul boxes from the vault to the counter or haul boxes of coin back to the vault when someone returns/deposits coins. The TELLERS don't like CRH's,it's not the DRIVERS!

Did they tell you that the machine fills bags or did you assume it did?Maybe the machine fills into a bin and THAT'S why you can't get the cent's to search for more wheat's,just a theory ;)Good luck.
