Here's a few things I found the other day.The first is a sweet well made blade.Followed by a well used knife...an adze with a nice undamaged bit end a couple of broken knife tips. All in all a good day...mjm IMG_20150530_154453_983.jpgIMG_20150530_154304_522.jpgIMG_20150530_154713_149.jpgIMG_20150530_154044_262.jpg

That was a good day. Id say 75% of the ones I find are broken which I don't show much. That would be a great day for me.

Thanks arrow86...adzes were very common on late archaic sites..They came In all shapes and sizes. The sizes probably varied from what ever they were used for.One of their main uses here was thought to be on the outside of dug outs.I have a variety of them and each is s little different some more elaborate than others but all dear to me...mjm

Id like to see your examples that you have found in 1 post. I bet I am missing them when out.

Here ya go rock. These are most of them. The two white ones at the top are from Illinois. The rest Maine finds from four or five different sites. Most all I'm guessing are late archaic.Sorry about the lousy pic.hope to get a camera soon...mjmIMG_20150604_111444_533.jpg

Well I believe I would of seen something like that I do have some Late Archaic activity in my area. But I have to admit I haven't seen any. I think it would be hard to miss. Nice collection of finds. Thanks for posting them. Roller Pistle in the back row? The long one?
