It all started with a chiastolite, thank you to the one who identified it. Found on Etsy for about $3.
Then it was a possible rubbing stone. I didn't believe it so I didn't even look at the responses.
That turned into an obsession and I believe I have uncovered an entire Maidu village on my family property.
Next to the railroad tracks I can only imagine the history.
A circle of huge boulders align with the neighbors boulder at summer solstice setting sun. The other neighbor aligns with winter solstice setting sun.
I fell over on my chair when I used suncalc.org. I pinpointed exactly on my rock via google earth and sure as **** it summer solstice lined up.
Two boulders in town align with rising sun at the solstices. (yet to confirm)

Waiting for archeologist from UC Davis or Sac State to verify.

Sorry, but I don't see any artifacts among the rocks in your photos. They all look like naturally worn stones.

"Waiting for archeologist from UC Davis or Sac State to verify."
The solstices?
Or the rocks?

You need to return those items to the exact position that they were originally placed!
Toying with the vernal equinox is never a good idea.
And upsetting Mother Nature can really backfire, especially in these trying times.
Put them back I say!
I am impressed with you lugging all those home to photograph, I hate it when I more than 3 pulltabs in my pouch.

the circle of boulders is interesting... can you get a picture from above, perhaps using a step ladder? and your neighbors stones too. About your other rocks, what leads you to think of them as artifacts?
