My Son and I were out at the beach today in Wisconsin. I got an Iron signal but the detector was also jumping around quickly, indicating iron and a higher number metal. Maybe there was something else there. It was a deep signal. I thought it was junk, but decided to dig it anyway. We were on the high side of a beach with not much traffic. Normally the beaches here on the western shore of Lake Michigan have lots of old nails. So this object was down about a foot. It turned out to be some sort of magnetic rock. Was wondering if it was Iron Slag or something else. Just curious. My Son always likes to pick up interesting rocks so this was a fun find for him, especially buried so deep.
