All Treasure Hunting
Basically a USA Friend of the Family was visiting before flying back to the US tomorrow morning. We had 30 minutes hunting time spare before they went out for a meal. The challenge was on, could we get him over a Roman coin on his first attempt of using a detector!

After 20 minutes in the best area, I had 6 roman Coins but our US friend had none. It was time to head towards the car. As luck would have it, he found one halfway back to the car. You should have seen his smile. Turned out to be the best coin of the day & a reverse type we have never had! His first coin with a detector was a Claudius II Gothicus AD268-70. (funny enough, I think this Emperor was Shaun7 first one)
I picked up a couple of pieces of Roman Pottery to take with him as well.

I'm sure he will treasure it & the buzz of digging it!

Job Done....

Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. I was predicting a 2 Soldier 2 Standard type, as its the most common & we have had at least 50 of this type already. So for him to buck the trend was quite interesting. Honestly it was so last minute & out of the usual area I thought he was about to blank!

Was he using the Cortes?

Yeah, we thought it wise, as the XP still has the large coil on (making it a little heavy) & with the earphones it would be impossible to advice him what to do with each signal. So at least we could hear the cortes & tell him to move on if it were iron.

Aaaah, the good old days :'(

Nice story Cru, just great that he found it on the last minute!

He must learn from a pro, you know? :laughing9: :notworthy: :headbang: If only KKC could have one chance at a field in the UK... :hello2:

Keep hunting for that Roman gold, Cru! :icon_thumleft:

Way to go Cru, nice to share in the excitement of someone else being successful and nice to see that you were willing to share one of your spots with him. :icon_thumleft:

That is awesome, only took me 16+ years to find my first, LOL! HH, Mike
