MacGrubber - destined to flop

What the heck is going on inside the head of Lorne Michaels of NBC's Saturday Night Live
If I am watching that show and that MacGrubber skit comes one it's time for me to switch over to an infomercial. It makes no sense and is far from funny in my book. Why spend millions of dollars to make a film that will tank at the box office and should have gone directly to video and even there few will watch it. Next time Lorne wants to make a movie he should give me a call and I'll pitch him a few ideas.

Maybe I'm wrong and it will rank right up there with the Coneheads Yes, it will have some funny lines, but then again so does the old Popeye cartoons and I get them for free Maybe it's just that I'm not a big fan if skits being turned into movies. I will predict that the movie will not play in theaters for 2 months and be released to video by August.

No doubt that it will make some money, but I'm not sure it will cover the cost of making it and distribution. By the time all is said and done it may break even I'll just wait for it to come on a low rated local TV network before the year is up I will manage to sit through the commercials.

The reason they put out crap like "McGrubber" is that there is very little originality these days. Maybe they've done it all, there is nothing new & fresh that can be made. Look at the rash of "Brady Bunch", "Addams Family" movies, even cartoons like "Speed Racer" & "Scooby-Doo" have been made into bad movies because the people who make movies have no imagination. McGrubber is just another 2hr waste of time that I wont bother with, even when its shown on TBS repeatedly in 6 months.
