I don't use an F 70, but do own and regularly use an M6. I can tell you that the M6 is built stronger and will outlast many other manufacturer's detectors. With the stock 950 coil, a US Quarter can be easily detected at 8-10 inches regularly. It is extremely simple to balance by just pumping the coil a few times. It also locks on targets very quickly.

With that said, the F 70 has many faithful users including a friend of mine who swears by his.

If you have any questions at all regarding the M6 feel free to ask, as I can probably answer them LOL

I'm sure someone who has both will chime in for ya & give an opinion of 1 user between the both & hopefully give the bad & good on both, I rarely here any bad on either machine

I've got the M6 and the F75 Limited. Depending on the coil you use the 75 is fast. I use the sniper on the 75 and the 5X8 on my M6. I hunt old college campuses, old parks and some relic hunting. My go to first machine is the Fisher. If it gets a little crazy with the power lines and after changing freq. it doesn't settle down, I grab the white. Its a more mellow machine. If you run the White discrim. below nickel, it will really look for the small coins and gold. That is with the gain turned up to factory setting. And sometimes you can go higher. My soil has low mineralization too. I usually ground balance around 49 to 51 on the fisher. We are really lucky with the soil here. But to summarize the Fisher is a little more nervous than the white. It can chatter more than the White. You can turn the senc. to below 29 and fix that though. I also have a AT Pro. Very good machine too. Any more questions. If I can answer, I will. Good luck.

Thanks for the opinions so far guys. I know the M6 is a rock solid detector and has a very faithful following of people who swear by them. I have also read that the F70 can be a bit squirrely but that is because it so sensitive and that is how it can get incredible depth. It seems for the F70 people either love them or hate them from what I have read. Those that take the time to learn them seem to do really well.

I had to run out of town today and on my way back I stopped at a Hobby USA that is a Whites dealer and was really looking forward to playing with an M6 or MX5. All they carry are a coinmaster and coinmaster pro. I was kinda bummed. The only Whites dealer I have been to doesn't stock any detectors so there were none to try. The only detector dealers I have found within hours of me operate out of their houses after work hours and don't have squat to demo. Also they all seem to push only Minelabs or AT Pro's.

Man it is tuff to narrow down your choices when you can't get your hands on one to try!

That's interesting.... I got a letter from Whites with my 2014 calendar telling me that Hobby USA was now a local Whites dealer. I got all excited and drove over there (only 10 miles maybe) planning to buy all kinds of cool Whites logo items etc, and all they had was 1 coinmaster and 1 Surf PI, they were locked in a glass case....I mean you couldn't even touch them LOL.

That stinks

Tell me about it.....I've bought some cool stuff off the White website though and have been really happy. Their customer service is so great that I'll just buy directly from them in the future. You know if their name is on it, then its got to be good.

F70 is very chatty and is a good machine but too chatty for me

I got my mom a f70 and she loves it I use it sometimes and is a good machine I'd recommend it. All can be chatty if not set right. I still go with my 1270 lol I used hers in a civil war site riddled with nails and would get the bullets easily after a few adjustments

Yeah fisher makes great machines

Fisher makes some excellent machines but I would opt for the M6. F70 is good but can be noisy. I don't think I have ever seen a bad thing about the M6. I almost went for one the other day but opted for a MX5.
