thanks dan... I honestly do not know why whites didnt have it as a light up screen...the machine itself cost enough to warrant that.... go figure..

This is a picture of a cheap mod. It cost me about $3.00 I never put it on the M6 but some sticky velco would get the job done. I know - I know this is a Whites forum but this is a picture I already had.

well tell me how ya did this..is it battery operated? am clueless help this idiot please.

Keychain flashlight which use watch batteries...

clever idea thank you much.......

by the way put a shield over the bulb on your side and it will help you retain your night vision.. Hmmm, I need to try the green led...

cosmic, thank you so much for that info...big time

Why dont you carry a mini headlight with you when you think you may hunt after dark. They work really well and your hands are left free to use your detector and dig your target. Give it a try.

Ok I have a question: The little light that is displayed is a good idea, but when you dig for your target, what kind of light do you use? I would think that would attract attention seeing someone out at night with a flash light.

The new headlights (I have one) utilize a 1-3 watt Luxeon Star LED (or similar LED) and they're super bright while giving up to 60 hrs of light on 3 AAA or 2 AA batteries. I tell ya, these lights are incredible and will near blind ya if you look straight into the lens. my hunting buddy had to walk to his RV (about 150' away) last year at night and I sat on my lazy white butt and lit his way (all the way and it was almost floodlit) with my 1 watt headlamp. ..Willy.

the light isn't available on the mxt either.. it's more cost effective.. most of us don't night hunt, and those that do use headlamps..

head lamp it is then... tough I tell ya, I love my m6 and really starting to get super into my dfx... I think I am a whites addict for sure.
thanks all very much...walmart here I come.
