Just guessing:
LVDOWIC V. (Louis V) SPRIMD. (no idea) CRACIA (Actually, Gracia--By the grace of God) REX (King of) BO (Bohemia). Bohemia, Bavaria and other countries in that area used the lion in that position as part of their flag's image.

I have just found one of these when digging up turf. Can any shed any light on it as the above link now no longer works!

Thanks!

I think its a fashion button. Maybe an older version of ones still made today.

Imitation coin/button, Alumimium suggests 20th C.

Are you posting your finds again, we are short of UK 'today' posts, good to see you back.

My mother found a similar button when they were renovating a 15th century cottage in the Cotswolds in the 60's under the floor boards. The back is different from the one above and I'd say it's heavier than aluminium. For curiosity's sake I was wondering if anyone would have a rough idea of when it might be from? They also found a George II halfpenny from 1745 but I doubt that it's relevant ;)

For interest's sake it is a copy of coin minted under Louis II Hungary (also the king of Bohemia) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_II_of_Hungary called a "thaler" - this is where the modern word "dollar" comes from.
