Okay! Out with it...how many of you have a lucky hat, coin, scoop or underwear, or whatever, that you need to take with you on your treasure hunts? Mine is my lucky hat...I just seem to get luckier, when I have it on, with the rim kinda turned to the left. Now I know that it is the hard work that gets the job done! But, come on...any other lucky charm people

Is,

no need to believe in that lucky hat, shirt, or
what have you. Its all in your head. Is all
a ruse, a hoax.

I concentrate on the vortex points
of the earth, in relation to the location
I am hunting; if I did my homework and
researched the coordinates during
the correct season of the year, I know
I will find a bunch.

It's location, season, date, and sometimes
weather.

None of the lucky hat or lucky pantyhose
stuff. Its all nonsense.

I always wear Twetty Bird briefs whenever
I am detecting, but that is just habit. ::)

have a good un......

Shermanville you worry me!have you been out in the cold for too long????haha Take care and stay warm

Well, I've nearly written a book on the forum about my lucky blue prospecting shirt. I still have the tattered remains hanging in the closet and as soon as the weather gets better I will get it out and put it on. I really have made my best finds with that shirt on but I can't tell you why. Maybe it gives me more positive energy or something weirder? I don't ever wash it because it might wash the luck out of it and you wouldn't want to get too close downwind from me! But on the other hand I've never been too superstitious, knock on wood. ;D Monty

stoney, don't worry about the detector just get out and dig some holes somewhere. You'll probably find more stuff than I will anyhow! :P ;) :D Monty

Ya know - I've never really given it much thought before, but now that the question has been asked; I may have to think more about this.

Maybe my lucky charm is my son. Let me explain:

We were on vacation at the beach this past summer. I was already swinging the detector the one morning when my wife and son came down. They came over to say good morning and I stopped to talk with them for a little while. I was about to start back up again when my wife asked my son where he thought daddy should dig next - my son walked over to a spot about 7 feet away from the line I was following and pointed. My wife and I both laughed, but I went over and ran the detector over the spot - solid quarter signal!!! Dipped the scoop and shook out the sand, and there was a quarter and a dime. I was about to kick sand back in the hole, but remembered what so many have said about rechecking holes - another solid quarter signal. And after another scoop, another quarter. Checked again - dime signal, scooped again, a dime. All in all 70 cents from one hole all because that is where my son told me to dig.

So, maybe I shouldn't take out the detector anymore. I'll just take my two year old son and a hand held pinpointer (to save time) and I'll be just fine!!
