Sorry, no pics at this point. I was in Austin over the holiday weekend at my parents house on Lake Travis and did take some pics, but the only camera handy was theirs and they have yet to finish using and develop the roll. I found a nice sandy area linked to a cove and boat launch, and had about a 3/4 mile of sandy area exposed about 30 feet from the shore. I had 4 hours to hunt on Saturday morning, and did I ever hunt! I pulled about $8 in pocket change, an 8K child's ring, a 10K ring, a sterling silver ring, a sterling silver and turquoise bracelet and a copper ID bracelet. My question is this. I found one ring that came out of the ground sounding like gold and looking like silver. I'm thinking white gold, right? I get a look at the markings on the ring and I'm seeing something else odd. No karat markings, but no .925 either. Instead, I have what looks like either .495 or .995. I know the .X95 is correct because those numbers are clear, but the first digit is the odd man out. Any ideas?
