(unless you are hunting in a true all metal mode on the 2500). on the 1500 a whisper will sound more like a broken or "iffy" tone than a whisper. in other words, on a really deep signal, the belltone wont get fainter in volume. it will just sound kind of broken. you see, the signal the machine sees has to be strong enough to trigger that bell tone and when a deepie is almost out of range, instead of the belltone sounding nice and clear it will sound short and "iffy" ...but repeatable.(same goes for an Ace 250 as well) hope this helps.oh..........and another thing, for deep targets, dont believe what the size feature is telling you. it will lie every time on a deep target. you just have to dig it to find out.
