Just got my T2 SE in trade a few days ago and took it to a school yard I like to hunt. Not much more than clad dropped by the kiddies but a real good place to put a detector through it's paces. Some deep coins but lots of junk and shredded aluminum cans from lawn mowing. I pulled 4 dollars out in three hours of random sweeping and was really impressed with the machine. Depth is off on shallow targets reading 5" and recovering at 1" or 2" but the Propointer helps to keep me from digging plugs too deep on the shallow targets. I was most impressed that the T2 got the quarter pictured on end at around 6" or 7" with solid tone and number reading. Settings were sens 80, disc 24, gb 65 and 3 tones.

sws33, congrats on a good start with your new toy. I constantly tried running my sensitivity too high at first and finally realized that I lost little depth and really ran much better in the 80 range. That is the place that the chatter usually calms down for me. In some remote areas I can run her around 90. The small coil is a wonder. It will pop an 9 inch dime with my normal hunting settings and give a good VDI. I usually hunt in the 2+ mode as do most of the others I know. But hear the 3 is great for coins. My ground balance seldom gets to 60 around here due to the mineralization, but sometimes it will on high ground. Sometimes as low as the 40's . Again lots of mineralization. I have really been impressed with the T2's trash hunting ability, and the depth is by far the best I have ever used. Wanting a 5x10 elliptical coil for mine. The stock 11 and 5 pretty inch coils pretty well cover it all but I do like a closed coil in the woods and stubble as they get hung up less often. Got an early 1800's flat button and a brass piece that looks like it may have been part of a drawer pull earlier today but nothing worth posting. Sorry to ramble. Hoping it works great for ya. HH

I've noticed the same thing with my T2se re: it's depth readings. It makes you think you have deeper target when they are shallow. ANNOYING!

Glad you're liking yours. I'm not sold yet!

The depth thing doesn't really bother me too much as it's always on the shallow stuff, and since I've always got my Propointer out I check and know quickly if it's deep or not. I'm using the Nel sharpshooter 9" (I think) on it now. Haven't even tried the stock coils yet.

If you have any remote sites without much trash the all metal will get you a couple inches deeper that the disc mode. It can only be used where there's little trash though as it'll drive you nuts. I'm amazed at this machine. I just started detecting 9 months ago and it was my first machine. I dug all the coins out that I've found so far and had 12 large cents, 8 King George half penny's, 2 1782 2 reales, 1 1739 reale. A bunch of indian heads, a 2 cent, and a seated dime. I only hunt very old sites and it's funny that I have more 1700s coins by far than I do 1900s coins.
Congrats on a great machine and I wish you lots of success with it, Abe

I've got the newest grey ghost headphones coming in the mail and cant wait to see what they do on the T2
