No matter where I go or what I find, this hobby just has a way that simply keeps things interesting.

I went for just another constitutional walk, (about 4.5 hours, I'll never learn! LOL).

I got NOTHING but clad! Would seem like just another day at the office wouldn't it? But, when I was cleaning up I had a small
surprise.

Here's the overall:

That's indicative of a whole lot o holes! ;)

There was this little tiny diversion:

How well do you know your car doors? ;)

This was the little surprise, whilst cleaning up I noticed something was a bit different with this penny.

Blingie was scratching his head as well. LOL

Thanks for peeking.

I'm told that the penny is one of the miracle mint error series! Seems that a whole run of these pennies started having a mysterious cross appear in the middle of them. They have not been able to explain them. There's nothing in the process that could bore a hole completely through. It was also thought that all of the errors had been caught. But, some slipped through.

Worth a MINT!!! ;)

I found a zinc penny with a cross punched out of it last year. Not worth much but still a cool find! I always thought that it was a novelty coin given away as prizes at festivals or sold as a gimmick, kind of like the pennies in the 70s with President Kennedy's head stamped into it facing Lincoln.

Congrats on the finds!

I'm thinking that your mini car door is off of a Ford Mustang II convertible or some other two door ragtop Hotwheels or knock-off toy car. Nice Haul, Sub 8-)

glad to see your posting again, was beginning to wonder what happened. Nice finds, good lookin day to me!

Ditto what Cjon said. Glad you're back.

Thank you, all for the welcome back. It's great being back.

Sub? I was thinking the same thing. This door is of a slightly heavier gauge metal then I would expect for a hot wheel though. Still, I have no real clue. Just thought I'd ask. :)

Must have been a race, and the other car blew the doors off that one. Perhaps the other car was a Cobra. LOL.

That little cross penny is a neat find.

Always look forword to your tales and pics. nice
