have been out three times with my new garrett at pro. each time was a learning experience. first trip was accross the river from an old fort that was demo'd when the pennsylvania canal was built.
i was at the edge of a soybean field just walking along with my machine turned to the pro coin mode. got this solid 90 reading with all kinds of junk reading, dug down about 6 inches and out popped a 1847 LC. my first, boy was i happy, no happy dance. it was a little green and pitted from the soil.
i had to go to work so i left, returned the next day with a friend and we found three indians, havent cleaned them to get a date yet. when back out a day later and found 2 more IH. can't wait till the farmer harvests his soybeans, cause there was an old house near by that can be located on a 1877 map. went out today in the rain, near my home to a park that is usually the first place new detector owers to use there machine. i first hit it in 1985. today i picked up 3 nickels and a wheatie. all 6=8
inches. I dont usually find nickels.i have not used my PRO in the standard mode yet, can't figure out why i would. i've been detecting since the 70's when i sold garrett, white and fisher. i am totally impressed with the AT PRO cant wait to go down to my son's place is Wv and see it i can better his cannon ball find and his Rev, USA button.
again i love the AT PRO
