Lousy week...

Nice. This weekend wasn't much for me either. Worst one in years. This didn't help-

It...is......August... and it seems everything out in the sun is almost too hot to touch. I've read that the real meaning of "Perseverance" is not measured in one long task, but many short tasks, one after the other.

Heat out this way has been between 100 and 102 this week.... Went to the local flea market three days in a row... A bit like "The Chinese Water Torture", but steady dripping drops of sweat off my forehead..... It was 'heat' hot down there, but a bit here and a bit there, the reward made it tolerable. Friday I walked past an upright floor standing jewelry box, but the owner said he just didn't remove three necklaces. Paid $1 for a 24" sterling necklace that had an open face picture pendant with "2-27-39" inscribed on the back. I found a $1 bag of mixed jewelry with some sterling earrings yesterday, along with a 1-1/4" varying 18"-23" wide, and 10ft long board of air dried rough White Oak for $15. Today, I spent $5 on two costume pendants and three thin gold necklaces. Two were stamped "14/20 G.F.", but the thickest of the lot was a thin broken bracelet stamped 14K. It weighs 1.3 grams.

Drip, drip, drip, but keep lookin'. It'll cool off and you'll get your "hot streak" back.

There were plenty of sales actually, even with the threatening skies. Problem is everybody was selling pure D junk. Crap I would either set to the curb, donate to Goodwill, or simply give it away. I even went to 2 estate sales and a couple inside moving sales, same story. I found a small vintage framed life of a cultured pearl (google it), a Roy Rogers Rodeo record book, 2 vaseline glass whatsits, a couple small sterling charms for a bracelet, and about a dozen Monet charms for a bracelet, and that's it. My best find is the cultured pearl thing.

BTW- dejapooh's husband, congrat's on finding that featherweight Singer. That's a great score. Which model/color did you find?

We're gonna have to get you guys two names, like Chug and Red (2 other married? members on here). Maybe Deja "and" pooh, but which would you be, lol.
