Lots of walking

I’ve hit 2 fields this week. I figured maybe they would be laying on top seeing it’s been a couple of years since I walked them. Well it wasn’t what I expected unless you like cores. I did keep 3 decent cores/ preformed chunks that never got finished for points. I didn’t find one complete point just debitage and broken stuff. I still have about 10 more acres to walk maybe I will get lucky.

That's a nice one; I was actually planning on going to my hafted scraper site tomorrow (hopefully it'll be plowed).

They are there I guess with a couple years of crops and no til they are probably a inch below the top. But never know one might be laying out. I just have to get back before the grass grows back. It will be a few days

Well no creek hunting this week so I guess I will go back to the field next day off. Got 3 inches yesterday morning and it’s pouring now as I sit in my car waiting on the lightning to subside. It’s pouring to. It was a bit hot just so you know. 5 hours of sweating but still fun. I did lose something and don’t know how cause I keep them in a mannie pack with zippers.

I have to ask when you walk rows how many do you walk? I do 3 at a time. The one I’m walking in and one on each side. It’s a huge field. My car looked like a dot when I was on the far side. It’s so large I have to speed walk it until I see something then I slow down.

All depends on how the field is laying and crops but usually 3 just like you are doing bud. Up my way the fields are large as well but you hit the high spots that are a lil sandy.

That field is pretty flat. Creek is about .25 miles away. Lower section which is still planted cotton is an Adena site. Middle field where I’m walking is all periods. Not to many Archaic out there but that’s the next section I will be walking. Might get lucky
