I was metal detecting an old home site. As I looked around, I noticed there were facinating rocks of all kinds there. Flint rocks of many sizes, some HUGE.
Then, I think I may have stumbled across someone's "special rock" collection lying along a knocked down fence.
Geodes!! (sp?)
I washed them with sprayer hose and revealed the many sparkles.
One rock particular has a lot of gold colored flakes... and clear crystals all throughout the rock.
Of course, the pic does NO justice for it...
could this be pyrite (sp?) ?? Such a glimmer!
And, How could I safely clean these rocks to show more sparkles awaiting to shine??
These are awesome as they are, but I know have much more potential than what I see now...
What do you think? (All the pics are the same rock at different sides.)
Thanks for any and all replies!

Chalcedony. Big version of a chalcedony rose. A good way to make minerals shine without cutting and polishing is mineral oil. I use food grade from Home Depot.

Nice find. Now, go find more! :occasion14:
