Yes it can be frustrating. But that link I gave on your other thread is about the best site I have found to look all of my foreign coins up. Again, nice selection of older foreign coins.

Try this. http://worldcoingallery.com/countries/coine.php?image=img14/11-2208&desc=Austria%20km2208%2020%20Kreuzer%20(1837-1848)&query=Austria%20km%202208  You getting there. Keep studying and you will start to notice things about coins that will get you in the right country to look. On yours the two headed eagle is a symbol of Austria, Russia, and Poland, so it had to be one of them.

Go to the Krauss World Coin Catalog in your local library, and Find the country that we have identified each as, then look down the list of photos until you find one that matches.

Look by the denomination. The one up above is a "2 Gulden." In other words, if it's a penny make sure you're looking in the pence rather than the pounds section. The composition provides a clue as well. Lower denominations will be made of copper, higher denominations, silver.

Where are you looking? In a printed world coin catalog? It shoudn't be that hard to find in one.
