First time poster to this board, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as far as dates, etc.... Here we go:

mil-buttons-1.jpg

1. says "Superior Quality" on back

2. The only info I can find is that in 1852, anchors were horizontal instead of vertical, in 1941 the eagle changed to face his right side.

3. says "Superior Quality" on back, and that it is a band symbol?

4. cannot find any info, repro?

mil-buttons-2.jpg

1. D & C? What does this stand for? Backstamped, "Hoole MFG Co. 53 Great Jones st. N.Y."

2. T & C? Meaning? Backstamped, "Armstrong Regalia Co. Detroit"

3. This has a welded on back. Cufflink?

4. Neat flag button! Cannot find any info...

pinbacks.jpg

1. American Red Cross Volunteer pin. Date?

2. Girl Scout pin. Date?

3. This is a screwback button pin thing. Says "Kiwanis International" on front with a "K" and "Bates & Klinke INC. Attleboro Mass" on the back.

4. a cufflink. All I can find is that it is an Engineer symbol. Date?

I appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks in advance!

pic#2 - Item#3 eagle pin = known as 'ruptured duck' lapel pin given to all WWII vets at end of war. issued: 1 in 14Kt. gold and 2 plated to each vet.

The cufflink has an Army Corps of Engineers symbol. I'm pretty positive it was never an authorized piece for their uniform. Looks like something someone would pick up at the PX as a gift.

I'll start by saying I know almost nothing about buttons, but I do have Albert's bicentennial edition book.

#1 - NA131 US Navy Chief Petty Officer

#2 - NA118 US Navy, correct on the pre-1941

#3 - Can't find it but looks familiar?

#4 - NA114 US Navy, gilt for dress, did someone paint it?

Don't know much on the rest..... Did I get any right?
