Hit up a thrift store near my house that Ive never been to before this morning. I noticed they had boxes of records tucked away in a corner. Flipped through a box and found tons of Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Aerosmith. Ended up with 20 records for $9. One of them might be pretty rare. It is called "The Pitman Family of Music" 20 Year Anniversary of CBS Records sampler for employees of the Pitman, NJ record plant in 1980.

That may be very rare...only 200 made from what I've seen. Is it a picture disc? Does it have a 16 page booklet with it? I'd love to see it if you could post some pictures.

Pitman is only about 20 mins from where I bought the record so it makes sense. Unfortunately, they just closed the plant after 50 years. It is not a picture disc and there is no booklet. I listened to the record and there are dozens songs on it, about 20-30 seconds per song. I wish I knew how much it was worth. Very cool!

Not one of the real rare ones, but still highly collectible I would guess. Big fans of Springsteen, Dylan, or Pink Floyd would probably love to have it for their collection. Awesome find. :headbang:

Very lucky to have found this.

Great score ! You should be able to get $3-$5 for the AC/DC, Stones records and @ 10 for the Led Zepplin III. You could get more if it's a import . Tossem up on ebay and see what happens . Look like the other record is doing great !

Great deal.

Sold the Pitman Family of Music for my asking price of $250 (shipped to UK). Unbelievably I found another copy which I will be putting up for sale very soon.
Talk about lightning striking twice..haha
