It’s hot today! 82° F and no clouds out here in the Boerne TX countryside. I came out here with my dad to moss the trees in the backyard for a very good friend and client Ben. Last night, he called us to let us know that he remembered he’d lost his wedding ring putting mulch down in the front when they first moved in years ago. I was there yesterday detecting in the backyard forest. Now, he offered me a job to search for his wedding ring in the front yard. Before he left for a while I asked him if it was ok to dig a few short holes and he said “Yea, I can always fill them back in and replant:laughing7:.” He also told me the ring’s Silver with :goldbar: all around it. “Got It”, I said.
Started detecting starting from the side of the house. Got a lot of iron signals from 5in down. I assumed it landed in the grass so it couldn’t have somehow dig itself into the ground by the year.

After working my way up to the drive way, dug up only 2in signal junk

Detecting the left side of the driveway I find another iron signal the size of a nickel and it was a SURFACE FIND! I had to also assume earlier that it was a surface find.
Took a closer look and the luster reflection caught my eye.

I knew it was a surface find this whole time

When he and his wife came back I gave them the news and they were astonished.

Honorable mention Excellent post Good job.

A good deed is it’s own reward, but I say honorable mention anyway.

Keep swingin.

Congratulations!!!:occasion14:

Way to go, I know what that feels like to give someone a lost memorable item. I just got my first detector and was telling people about the stuff i dug from my yard. Someone asked me if i could come over to look for a wedding ring that someone lost while throwing a ball with their dog. After searching for about 15 minutes it was found but not in the area i was directed to.
