lost plastic screw that holds my coil on my Garrett 350

$4.95 + $16.95 S/H

lost screw , tried to order replacement from Kelly's. item was $4.95 shipping and handling was $16.95. not going that route, bought 3 detectors from them, so long Kelly.

That's KellyCo no matter how much you order or how offen they are going to get their S&H. Worth a call to Garrett's Service Department.

You can get them for less than that on eBay. Or call Garrett and see what they will charge. -- I suggest keeping a spare on hand -- I always keep one in a "field kit" with my spare batteries, etc.

The plastic screws that screw on the soft toilet seats are the same size, LOL.
At least on the 250's......
Also, you can get nylon screws/bolts at Home Depot, Lowes, or any hobby shop, rc airplane/flyer shops.

Was going to say the same. Been buying them from Depot for a few years. The black ones seem to last longer than the white ones. They had some crème colored ones, stay away from those even though they're cheaper! Look at those cross eyed and they crack off. A lot of Ace Hardware's have them too if you're on the road! If you need to shorten one up, thread a metal nut on then cut with a single edge razor blade.

I agree about getting a replacement from a hardware store or at a national DIY type store. I must admit I have never lost the bolt, but I have lost a couple nuts while detecting. I learned to check them every time I pull my detector out for use. It's part of my PMCS routine (PMCS = Preventative maintenance Checks and Service). Kellyco is a business and probably has a minimum sale price before you get free shipping. If not they would be nickel and dimed to death and lose money. Remember shipping companies charge a fee. When I sent my F75LTD in for the DST upgrade back in 2015 I bought a 3 fisher replacement screw/nut sets and they shipped them back with my machine, no additional shipping charges. 2 years later I lost the on/off knob. They mailed me 2 for free. Sure it took a couple extra days for me to recive them, but I didn't mind that they came vial US Mail.

Jeeze Loco! Ya gotta quit doing that! "but I have lost a couple nuts while detecting. I learned to check them every time I pull my detector out for use." Got this picture in my head, dropped my English muffin & spit coffee...... The dogs just sat there looking at me, now they're sure I've lost it.......

They could ship that screw for less than three bucks via first class mail. A lot of companies get lazy when it comes to shipping. They figure it doesn't cost them anything, but they're wrong. I never do business with any company that gouges on shipping, even when they hide it with higher prices and "free" shipping.

Something is not right, there is no way they were going to charge you $16.95 to ship a screw, was it just a screw or was it a part for detector that had screw in it. They would have shipped a screw via USPS not Fedex for couple dollars or less.

Somebody misunderstood someone.

Went through the same thing with my XTERRA 705 go to your local ACE hardware store and ask them where their nylon bolts and screws are they usually have all kinds of them and they are maybe a dollar for the bolt and wing nut problem solved do not purchase a metal one or your detector will be seeing that bolt all the time NYLON BOLT is what you want take your coil with you so you can match up the rite size that fits

That last thing I do is buy from any vendor. I ck on Tnet because with all the knowledge on here someone will have some sort of solution and the last resort they will tell you what to do next. I am pretty mechanically inclined so nuts and bolts are never an issue with me. I bought my 1st detector from Kellyco and they threw in a bunch of worthless junk to make me feel like I got a deal. I have since trashed all their worthless junk but never bought from them again. I use BBH now and always felt I get a fair deal from Bart
