Lost-Found-Returned all in 20 minutes, " Merry Christmas "

Hi Everyone,

This is kind of a different story. My wife and I were at Meyer's yesterday and we were in the grocery section. We were talking to a friend of ours when I noticed something laying in the isle. Well any good hunter is always looking on the ground and when I saw this something laying there, I went and picked it up.

It was a check made out for $396, already signed and ready to go. Well the name on the check happened to be a name that my friends new and we had seen the guy earlier. So I started walking up and down the isles until I got to the front of the store. I was asking the clerk to please call his name out on the loudspeaker and I saw the guy.

I walked up to him and said I think you lost this in the isle. He just looked at it and said Thanks and walked off.

Well I guess that is my good deed for this Christmas Holiday.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Very Good Metal Detecting New Year!

HH< Ringfinder

P.S.
I'm including a picture of me in a woods. Can't wait for spring. Might have to take a drive down south and get warm!

Good work ringfinder. Who knows why the ungrateful guy didn't thank you appropriately, but YOU did the right thing. Santa will remember your good deed and undoubtedly reward you accordingly. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thank YOu for your reply. I remember back in 1966 when I was stationed at Kelly Barracks, near Stuttgart, about being away from home for Christmas. But in Germany there are so many things to see and do. I envy you and your family. Enjoy your time in Germany, years from now you will look back at these years as some of your best.

Merry Christmas, Ringfinder

Ringfinder, I know the feeling. My wife and I recently made a 40 mile trip to return a class ring to a fellow that had lost it back in 1966. We stood and listened to how successful he had been through the years. We did not get a thank you or even an offer to have a seat. Some people are just that way I guess. I am very proud that I was not raised that way. Better luck to you on your next return. You did great.

Friends, John

Hey, that was an awesome thing you did. Doesn't matter if you got a decent thank you. You will be rewarded!

Ringfinder....awesome job, nice to know there are still honest people out there..the guy may have been rude, crude and ungrateful...or at least he didn;t show any gratitude, but you still did the ring thing....WTG!!!!

I know how you felt because yesterday while shopping at the mall, here in Alabama,i was checking out,an noticed a cell phone that was on the counter,i opened it up, an noticed a happy female smiling on the cell phone screen saver, the lady had just purchased items with her friend,an walked off,she was a distance away when i was able to Get her attention, she walked over an grabbed the cell phone an said thanks without even stopping,or even that same smile i noticed on her cell, the stress i saved this lady at Christmas, her numbers pictures important info, but i still felt better giving than receiving, merry Christmas, Ronald

You did the right thing Ringfinder. A few days before Christmas,pre-occupied people doing a lot of last minute shopping. He might not have realized how ungrateful he sounded.Merry Christmas to you.

Re: Lost-Found-Returned all in 20 minutes, " Merry Christmas "

Thank You All for your replies and to0 those of you that have returned items, I like to Say A Big Thank You to You.

Although some people fail to say or respond to someone who returns something to them, I know I for one, will keep doing what I've always done, I'll keep returning what ever I can. I guess that's the way we are.

Too All, Hope you have a Very Special Christmas and a Happy Metal Detecting New Year!!

Happy Hunting, Ringfinder
