We went out of town for xmas day and spent last night away (about 70 miles from home). Today I went to a few banks across the street from the hotel to look for halves. One bank had $300.00 MWR so I brought them home. Started to open them when I noticed some looked a little shorter than the others. 8 of the 30 rolls were short by 1 coin. These were string and son rolls and they were all sealed and not rewrapped.
Should I call the bank and complain? I am not going to go back to the bank as it would cost me a lot more in gas and bridge toll than the $4.00 I am out.
A few months ago I did find a roll with an extra one in it.
Has anyone else found this many shorted in a box?

Not worth doing anything. Just take loss and move on $4?? Think of it as inconvenience ATM fee.

Man, you sure do get some strange luck in your CRH endeavors.:icon_scratch:

Not worth it. Just in case you do decide to buy coin from that bank again. It's like buying bags off the machine. If you complain, they might not sell you any more rolls.

Its been an odd first year CRH. But, im hooked. I've had some really good boxes and have a nice little stack started.
We will see what next year has in store.

wait till you dump coins and get shorted 3 or 4 hundred bucks. the worst I had was 800 plus short. most of the time if you talk to the person in charge they will find it in a week or two. I got shorted 375 once and never got it back. last week I did 2 bags of dimes and they had and extra 100 in each. it will all even out eventually. but 4 dollars short is nothing to even worry about. its all just part of the game . hh brian

I've had sealed boxes missing entire rolls. As others here have said, it is best to just move on.

Well, here is what I found searching 3 boxes last night.
(1) 1964
(2) 1967
(4) S mint clad proofs
(2) foreign coins
(1) copper blank? Just a little smaller than a half.
So yesterday was my first time getting shorted and my first time getting foreign coins in a roll.
Like it has been said just move on and keep searching hard for that dream box and take what I get in the mean time.

I agree, I've never been shorted a roll in a box until about a month ago...
1 half dollar box was missing 2 rolls
and
1 dime box was missing 1 roll.

I cut my losses and did not contact the bank, its not worth losing a good bank over a miniscule shortage, considering you will reap more than enough silver to cover this rare loss.
