I'm trying to locate the owner of a 67 Camaro RS who abandoned it on a set of railroad tracks many years ago in Tippecanoe county. Very few people other than my friends and I know about the location of this car. I guess we'd kind of like some answers as to why a car which if not destroyed, would be sought after by collectors, is sitting at the bottom of an embankment stripped, crumpled, and rotten. We have no intentions of moving or damaging it. Just closure. If you think you know which vehicle I'm talking about please contact me with details of the location of the vehicle and is possible the backstory.

Location: Lafayette

You can pretty much bet that simply it was stolen, the parts the thief needed and that could not be traced were removed and the car disgarded in a remote area avoid getting busted, looks like it worked, theres even a chance it could have been done by the owner who was thinking it needed repairs he couldnt afford so he stole his own car then clamied it on his insurance as a valuable collector car and got paid, happens all the time, its a shame, im a chevy guy! if its a 67 and a rs its a rare car, a 67 will have wing windows, you should get the VIN of the dash in the left corner and have someone run it, I bet it comes back stolen, looks like not much good left on it!

Look for tag and VIN numbers. If they are both removed, you can bet its stolen and/or dumped. I think the VIN will be on a metal plate fastened with 2 rivets and can be easily removed.

There are junk cars everywhere... nothing unusual unless bones are inside.

And there is no way that the car crashed down the hill, tearing it up on the way down?
It's possible other pieces of it are a little under dirt on the hill. But who knows for sure? check for fingerprints!
