A bit younger, 43 but my folks watched Dragnet faithfully and if the "clicker" (remote) for the t.v. was missing, we had the honor of changing channels between commercials. ;D

I am only 36 and knew it as soon as I saw it. Dragnet is a classic.

Then you might remember this:
"Dum-de-DUM-dum" "This is the city. I'm a cop. The story you are about to hear is true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent."
And so began what might have become the most famous of all the cop shows.
Don....

My favorite was the classic "Baby in the bath tub" episode which taught you that you should never give your baby a bath while you are stoned out of your gourd. :drunken_smilie:

I recently saw a couple movies on TCM from the late 40s with Jack Webb. It's a real kick to see him in his younger days. In one of the movies he actually played a killer and he was not even mentioned in the credits. It's really obvious to see the damage that smoking did to him when you see him 20 years later in Dragnet.

"Blue Boy" was a great episode as well. Any of the "hippy" episodes were a blast to watch.

We were working working the day watch out of Narcotics. We had been assigned to bust some hippies.
