Looks melted Gold Nugget with Diamond? Help!

I dug this. I think it is gold. It looks like it was on a chain. The diamond was not easily seen at first but I picked at the area with a tool and was able to show the diamond better.
It looks melted but this would be practically impossible being gold?? The gold material was covering most of the diamond when found. Please see all photos and let me know what you think.

A gold nugget made into a pendant and they shoved a diamond in it. The nugget necklace would have looked fine w/out the diamond.....HOWever, if ya finding it instead of designing it, might as well have the diamond! Nice find!
