I will be having prostrate surgery in early June, so I guess that I will be stuck on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks. may have to crappie fish or something to keep from going crazy(er). it is bad enough to be stuck inside because of the rain the last two days. They finally cut the grass at my site (mostly cut, some pushed over) and it has rained three times! The spots I have been really waiting for and hoping to get to also hold the water the worst. So, when the rain finally quits, I will have to hunt as hard as I can to make up for the up coming down time. So some of you are going to have to get busy in June and post a lot of finds for me to drool over LOL. DL

Prayers for a speedy recovery, and i am sure everyone will do their level best to make you as jealous as possible to speed the recovery process!

Ummm Crappie!
We call em Specs here , but call em whatever they are tasty. A nice mess of em is better than any pile of dirty clad coins. Plus they are fun to catch.

Hang in there.

Dirtlooter this is batchief I just had a urolift and it’s been 10 days after and I feel awesome before you let them cut anything please look into the urolift it’s one day no cutting and the recovery was not bad at all!

Get well soon. Hope you still get a nice detecting season this year.

Get well soon! We'll be waiting for your post recovery "recoveries" :laughing7:

Praying for a quick recovery, but unless prostrate surgery has changed for the better since 2001, you are in for some surprises. If I had known the side effects, I would have searched for an alternative treatment. Good luck & happy hunting when you get back to dirt fishing.

Every man on the face of earth if he lives long enough will be gettin a roto-rooter on the prostate. God bless you and keep you and put His healing on you. You are your own best health care advocate so be sure to look into it. I'm not going to say "good luck" I'm gonna say "good health care" so as not to leave it to chance.

Hope all works out well for you dirtlooter.

Good luck to you sir. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm certain that a tough old bird like you will bounce back. I will try to find some good stuff to post for you to comment on.

Best to you brother.

Hey dirtlooter, I play old timers hockey and my buddy had his removed and one month later he was back playing and said he has NO side effects. Took it out just below bellybutton inch and a half incision. He Looks good and feels great so let’s just say you should be fine. Hurry back we’re going to miss your posts. Good luck and take care my friend.

thanks all, will be done at the VA in Little Rock and yes, all prayers are thanked for. I didn't mean to post this on today's finds..Duh! I already have most of the side effects of the surgery if they were to occur. Have had a lot on my mind plus I find out today that we may be in process of moving in about a month or so (for the better.) I have been maxed out on meds for this problem for several years but it hasn't improved at all. I figure that a lot of us older guys have gone through problems like this or they are about to, it is what it is. But, our attitude on how we handle it can make a really big difference. I'm just looking at it as just another one of my "bumps" in the road, it always could be worse.

I agree with the urolift as i did some research while in Arizona this winter. I had a green light laser done many years ago and it worked out well, but now the scar tissue is causing problems. Doc said cutting would be the only way now. Can't wait!!!!

I don't believe the VA has that option, at least not yet. I don't have any insurance, just the VA so sometimes it is what it is literally.

Good Luck with the surgery, I will keep you in my prayers!

Be well and fast recovery! :icon_thumleft:

Will keep you in my prayers, get well soon

Best of luck, Dirtlooter! The coins can wait...just concentrate on getting better n stronger. Maybe the crappie will turn out to be good therapy. 😁
