Looks like I might have to let my MXT go.

I would not get rid of my MXT. It's very relieable and accurate. If it was me , I'd find something else to sell .

Keep the coils. Why buy them again ?

I may be wrong but I understood that the coils would have to have the "V" on them in order to work on the Spectra. If that is not true then that is great new for me. 4X6 6X10 9.5 and the Super 12 all work?

These are decisions we all have to make, let old reliable go? can I afford another detector? If so will my wife find out? If she finds out....can I afford the lawyer?

Tin Nugget your old coils will work just possibly not with TX Boost on or at a High RX Gain. Lots of V users do not run TX Boost on except in rare occasions due to increased battery usage when using TX Boost. Coils with the "V" embossed at the mounting area are V nulled and will work on all machines.

I have a 1400dd, super 12, and 5.3 Eclipse old coils only the 5.3 will work with TX Boost on and not overload the other 2 don't.

As far as the DX-1 to date I haven't seen a verification from the manufacturer as of yet that they are compatible but, many are using them on the V3's and one I have read will work on TX Boost the others haven't.

Hope this helps
