Looks like an old brass bullet casing

After about 20 min of metal detecting in the back yard I found this brass casing about 3 inch deep. Searched the Internet with no luck as to what it is. No markings as to what it is. There was a piece of what seem to be a fuse or wadding inside of it. ??
