I found this while digging a small trash dump at a late 19th century farm site. It could be as new as 1960. That's the latest it was lived in to my knowledge. The writing says malleable if you can't make it out. I had to clean it some so I could. Thanks in advance for the help.

What you have is probably a foot rest for a shoe shine stand. Popular in the Early 1900's up till today in some locals..
Or it could be a shoe holder for a cobbler.

I think dg39 is right. Looks like a shoe last. Shoe went over it so a cobbler could work on it. Google the words shoe last. Tennessee digger

tennessee digger is right...it is a cobbler's last. They are made in different sizes to fit lnside different sized shoes.

Heres a better pic of a 6 piece set. My Dad used to repair his own shoes. Heck my Grandma used to sew my socks. Ad from 1920.
