Looks kinda like a old telegraph part?

This came out of a old ghost town in pa that dates 1880's threw about 1918.It broke apart in hole and was in the side of a foundation.Switch clearly could be taped ot moved up and down.Looks sort of like a old telegraph like in the western movies.Not saying it is.

it is part of a door latch (old) here is one i found like it...

It looks like an early iron door latch lift which lifted the latch on the outside of the door.
