What is a snap ring? Is that where you load a bullet?

Garabaldi i'm sure there are many ways they were used like AU24K shows
looks like a key chain I've dug a few at a National Guard Armory at their
flag pole for raising and lowering the flag like this one

Didn't realize the image in au24k post was it lol. Cool and also your image helped me id on of my finds yesterday. Just dug one and now know it goes to a flag pole and it was missing one of these. Must be the one. :icon_thumleft:

Here is the other part that I had also found. Now I know what it is and what the snap ring goes to. The spring was still in the clip. Thanks for the ID and image. :icon_thumleft:
