I am thinking that I have seen something like this before, but I can't place it. Found in the soft sand at Flagler Beach in North East Florida.

The dangly thing seems to be lead. The chain shows some rust, as does the pin/rod.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Is that a blue bottle cap to the right side of the picture?

I think it's an earing. Kinda bent though.

It's not a locking pin for ears you goof. I figured that you guys would know the relative size of a bottle cap. Guess I'm the only one that digs those things up! LOL

I shot some more pics, I believe the lead/pewter trinket is broken, it says "MADE IN" on the back. I am pretty sure that I remember seeing something with a holding / locking pin like this, but I can't remember where.

I agree with MJ, I think it a cheap earring too.

It looks similar to a device that you put into the ground to tie a dog to.

Hi There!
It reminded me of the key or tool that my friend uses on her boat to open the water cap so she can fill her water tank with water. I helped her do this when she opened her boat this spring. My two cents worth. I love this website!!!
