Hello. I'm in the Air Force and got stationed at Travis last summer. I've been metal detecting for about 20 years - most recently with a minelab Explorer and Whites MXT. Just bought a Whites TDI that I haven't taken out yet. I am interested in meeting up with some folks who coin shoot or even better do some nugget shooting -which I have never done. I've joined UPI and GPAA, but the info is kind of cryptic and outings seem few and far between. Anybody interested in taking this newbie to gold prospecting under their wing and meeting up one weekend for some detecting?

Eric

There is much interest in the TDI but folks broke and not many at all have given it a try. I'd definately appreciate you continuing your thread to enlighten the rest of it with all the good, the bad and the ugly? The only posts I've read(also checked up on) were folks with little to no experience. :hello: tons a au 2 u 2-John

I'll try to hook up with Pvillehunter and then post you guys an update on how it goes with the TDI - may be slow at first - I haven't even taken it out coinshooting yet!

howdy, and thanks for your service to our great country. you should look into joining the new 49ers club. they seem to be more hands on for helping newbies and there is camps all over the place to meet people just like you. go to, goldgold.com/clubinfolist.htm i dont know ow to make it to click on, sorry but they are also fighting for our rights as miners out there. take a look!

Not only no but LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO-small local yokel clubs are the answer-John

new 49rs do not have camps all over????????????

I would check out the Sacramento Valley Detecting Buffs. I know a few of their members own a TDI and have had great success, mainly coin and jewelry hunting.

Hi. I just bought a brand new TDI Pro so I'm also looking for prospecting partners. I'm a single Dad so don't have a lot of spare time, but when I do I like to get out. I live near San Francisco but spend my prospecting time in the gold country. I took my kids up to the S. Yuba River this past weekend. The Goldhounds have some organized prospecting trips this next weekend. They're at www.goldhounds.com Most of them are located near Colfax/Auburn and have some great outings in the area.
