my great grandfather buried some silver alot of silver. He passed away unexpectedly one night while shrimping but he had told his son (my grandfather) where he had buried it years earlier. my papa was only able to find the 6 mason jars buried under the house. he could not locate the 10 or 12 buried around the barn or the two gavinised pipes filled with 750 silver dollars the ones under the house where around 18 24 inches deep. i know ill have to get a larger coil but my question is what machine should i be looking into? been looking at thr fisher f75 etrac and safari any help would be much appreciated

Aside from equiptment you need to survey the property carefully , Most caches were buried within eye sight of the home, this allowed an watchful eye to be kept on it ----------------- stand by the home and look to the barn area---------------- keep in mind that most have some sort of marker a fence post , stone wall ect.
My biggest hint is get the VIBES of the property --- Which means quietly stand there for a few minutes and look the property over slowly ----- Dont talk just observe , you will be suprised at what might come into you mind
Has worked for me many times Good Luck

Most detectors would work for you. Are you wanting one for just this project or do you want to look
for other things like jewelry and coins? Since you know the area to look you should find it rather quickly.
Rent or buy a detector that has an all metal circuit and dig all the loud targets. If the ground is soft use
a 4-5' metal rod to touch the glass, you should be able to tell if it is glass if there isn't a lot of background
noise. A good time saver.

Let us know if you find em.

Are you on your last leg?

Same here, If I was a race horse, they put me to sleep. Pains go with old age, which is better then being dead and bury. Good luck, Lastleg.
