Looking for some advice

public land like schools and parks are basically open and great places to hit.
so far the only law talking about detecting ive come across is about state parks.no detecting there except beach area's.
akron has a good old history.i believe alot of churchs in the area are mostly original dating 1800's structures.
if you can get permission those would be some sweet spots.

Nearly all the state laws and city ordinance can be found on the net. Just look up the City you wish to detect in and the state you plan to detec in. They shouild have a link to the law you need. If not listed anywhere on the net, contact your Cityi Attorney's Office and the State Attorney General's office Be sure you tell them the specific law you are interested in such as," Please advise me of any and all statutes or ordinances pertaining to the use of metal detectors on city or state owned land. Youi may also want to contact the local school board to see if they have any prohibitions. As a rule, National Parks, Monuments or Historical places are off limits. Once you have the basic information, any specific questions should be redirected back to the issuing agency. Hope this helps you get started. JIM

Talk to the police in your area, they will know of all regs. I found out that in my town we can hunt the open boulevards from the curb to the sidewalk anywhere in the city, this opens up a lot of virgin ground, and it seems to be bountiful!!!GOOD LUCK.Last Saturday one local cop watched me for about an hour or so, I think he will be buying a detector, I offered him my number and told him I have several and we could take in a hunt sometime, good pr.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll let you all know what I find.

Thanks again.
