Looking for new sites...had a laugh.

I very rarely do any lunch time hunts. I don't like detecting in the city. So today I decide with school ending soon I would drive out of the city and scope out some old school yards in surrounding suburbs. I was driving down one towns main street which has three older schools on it. As I drive by each I slow down and check out where the kids are playing and how much grass there is. (I've been to schools that are all asphalt and concrete...sad) After passing the last school I look in the rearview mirror and there is a cop car right behind me. I actually had to laugh because it probably looked really bad. Then I got mad when he did not pull me over...if it was someone going by my daughters school I would want them pulled over even if it was me. In the officers defense I'm not sure how long he was behind me.

Does anyone have a funny store about checking out detecting sites?

or more over, you hadn't done anything illegal yet. Better to let someone screw up and nail them than to have them get off and get cocky. For all he knows you were out looking for your kids.
