One of my grandpas friends gave me a few points she had that were her dads, I wanted do a little digging and fill her in on what they were, she wasn’t even sure they were real. She thinks they came from Arkansas, I think they look plenty real.
First impression is archaic dart points
This first one (A) is complete and has a very stubby base not sure yet on even a good guess, material seems like it may be a hornstone from farther east?
The next (B) I think is pretty generic and may be hard to pin down, also not familiar with the material
Next (C) I wanted to say smith but I don’t think it has the basal notches, also thought maybe a heavy duty, or a big creek, again I think it could be hornstone, it may be worth noting the flakes carrying all the way across the piece
Lastly (D) caught my eye first, I was thinking maybe a heavily resharpened calf creek but the round base doesn’t fit great looks like calf creeks are usually squared and have a slight indent if anything, so other thought was adena, as far as material I haven’t seen it before but maybe pet wood with the rings?
She was glad I was so interested in her points so any info I can share would be appreciated, in the meantime I’ll keep digging too
