looking for info on 2 shell flat buttons

As far as I know these were handed down from my great- grandmother,but not sure how she acquired them .They are the correct size of the flat buttons of the 18th century, but I am not sure if they are that old.The story goes that my great grandmother wore the larger one on the right on her wedding dress?I am hoping to learn some more about them!They look to be made of shell.The larger one looks like it might have a thin wood back?
