Looking for help with GaiaGPS. Historic map overlays are about 500 feet off both East-West and North-South.

Is this what you want?

The map stitching will be off (on google maps) if your trying to overlay something over a few google images. If your trying to pull GPS coordinates they can be off by 5 to 20' from what I have found in the past. There are a few work arounds to get the coordinates down to under 10' but it's fun.

I use google maps for a lot of things around the farm and for body recovery. The search and rescue group I work with / after also has these issues, we have 3 cavador dogs.

Depending on where you are at and what your looking at GIS maps might be worth looking into. You will want to google "GIS Charleston, West Virginia".

I miss read your question. https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/a...Overlays-MVUM-Private-Lands-Public-Lands-etc-

Thanks for the response, but I know how to add overlays. I paid for a yearly subscription to Gaia GPS to get the 1930 and 1900 topo overlays and the issue is that, when I add either of these two overlays, the main roads don't match up with the satellite imagery. It's instead offset by 500 feet East-West and 500 feet North-South. I want to slide the historic topo map so that it accurately overlays the satellite image.

Sorry about that.

I have worked with 17 different search and rescue groups over the last year and none of them know of a system that works reliably with overlays.

Dang. That's a little frustrating. Seems like it should be fairly simple, but I'm no app developer. Thanks for the response anyways.
