BIG-LAKE-GOLDPANNER

i tried panning on a lake that i have hunted on my whole life not expecting anything, i just picked up a gold pan this summer and have tried test pans wherever there is water. Well on this lake i took half a pan from the lake shore from a spot where the highest waters of the year beat the shore i did not classify the material so there was only a small amount of sand in the bottom of my pan but there were around 5-6 fines in each pan from multiple spots along one spot that is mostly gravel and grass. I am new at this but seems to me that if i classify the material through a window screen that each pan would hold significantly more gold, and i was wondering if this lake warrants more of my time? maybe the use of a highbanker when i upgrade my keene a52 sluice in the spring. any feedback would be great
