Relic Hunting
I went on the hunt for my great, great, great grandfather's homestead yesterday in a huge track of woods. Apparently it's been a illegal dump area for a long time. My grandfather showed my mother the foundation 32 years ago and she really has no clue where it is. I was able to find it on a 1860 map and headed out to check that area. I searched for 6 hours and just found random junk that had been discarded and bullets. On the out I noticed a area that might be promising . To be continued.....

Awesome!!!

I found a newer map that shows his homestead further back in the woods, or his son's. The quest for family history continues.....

This REALLY cool... Make sure to keep us updated on your progress! I was looking at your finds and saw something that I recently dug up in my backyard... The sprocket looking thing or cog I guess.... Anyway, cool finds, cant wait to see what else you find!

I will definitely keep you updated . Unfortunately the 2 sprocket looking things are the insides of a old Zebco fishing real , I believe.

Check out my new post. I FOUND IT!................

Once you find everything on the surface if you haven't already done so you might want to start digging test holes about 20-40 inches deep and see if you can find more stuff.. Keep it up! :icon_thumright:

I was planning on taking my John K. singing probe back with me to try and find a bottle dump, I thought about digging some test holes in high iron target areas today, but I didn't want to slow down.

Sounds good.. I can def tell you from years of digging that ALOTT of good artifacts are under all those iron and nail signals, thats normally how it rolls! Can't wait for an update. Good luck! :occasion14:
